On the morning of November 22, 2025, the 2025 Annual Conference of the China Foundation Development Forum kicked off in Kunming, Yunnan.
Under the theme of "Co-creating Sustainable Value" , the three-day conference featured a diverse agenda including 2 plenary forums, 11 parallel sessions, an industry data release, a public welfare gala, a charity market, a thematic archive exhibition, and a partner open day. Over 100 professionals from the public welfare sector, academics, and cross-sector partners gathered to share insights and practices. They jointly explored how to steadfastly pursue high-quality development of philanthropy through co-creating sustainable value amid an era of transformation. Representatives from Qingyi Future delivered a lightning talk and hosted a public exhibition booth during the event.
During the keynote speech session, speakers shared multi-dimensional perspectives on "Co-creating Sustainable Value". The concept of "investing in people" was formally included in China's Government Work Report for the first time at the 2025 National Two Sessions. Lu Ming, Executive Dean of the China Development Research Institute, noted that in a post-industrial society, China is shifting from "investing in tangible assets" to "investing in people" — a pivotal turning point in resource allocation structure. Today, consumption has become an indispensable driver of economic growth, while people's livelihoods lay the foundation for sustainable development, and the importance of the service sector is increasingly prominent. Sustainable value does not lie in static stability but dynamic adaptation: ensuring services are accessible to meet people's evolving needs and resources are allocated in response to population mobility.
Wang Yuechun, Vice President of China Philanthropist Magazine and Dean of the Impact Philanthropy Research Institute, stated: "Corporate foundations should not be lone warriors but 'ecosystem conveners'." With "business for good" as their anchor, private enterprise foundations leverage technology to break barriers and share outcomes. When business wisdom empowers philanthropy, the operational capacity of private enterprises is deeply integrated into the industry ecosystem through the carrier of foundations. Only when governments, industries, and the public jointly optimize the "enabling environment for philanthropy" can the transformative power of private enterprises converge into a sustainable force .
Liu Wenkui, Executive Vice Chairman of the China Rural Development Foundation, addressed the current challenge of eroded sectoral trust. Against the backdrop of stricter regulation, he emphasized the need to uphold confidence in philanthropy's development. He stressed that philanthropy is valued by the nation and highly prioritized by the central government, and the fundamentals of China's public welfare sector remain solid. As regulatory measures are gradually implemented and improved, the industry will embrace a healthier and more sustainable development ecosystem. As he noted, "Like the phoenix nirvana, rebirth often requires a process of transformation."
